This spatula was inspired by Kathy from Rotorua who comments as follows " I used the holey stirrer for the first time last week and again today. I was surprised that it felt easy in my hand and was even more useful than my battered and worn old favourite.The reason I like the slim shape with a hole is because any cake or muffin batter stirs way more efficiently so the batter mixes quickly and stays spongy and light. The thickness of the stirrer is perfect, as it fits my smaller arthritic hand, so that's a bonus!"
TheBakers Mate is made from recycled NZ heart Rimu. It measures 28cm in length and 5cm across the widest part of the blade
The central hole is oval as Kathy tells me this makes for a much more efficient mixer than a plain round hole
The blade tip is gently rounded to allow you to scrape into the corners of any container
The handle is contoured for comfort and maximum grip and a gradual bevel runs down into the blade making the spatula light but retaining it's strength
